It makes me very proud to be working for the blues-rock singer and terrific guitar player Holger Metzler, composer, singer, and head of the MotorPlanet blues-rock band. Holger has set to music a few of my own older texts, and his version of high enough still knocks me out. But in most cases I wrote the words to his music, Holger singing "Gibberish" in a provisional version, I figuring out verses and chorus, and counting lines and syllables. Often, Holger would give me hints as to the mood of the song, or a situation it was supposed to describe. If you have the chance to experience Motor Planet live (in the vicinity of Bremen or sometimes in Berlin, too) - don't miss it!

last night (let's forget it)
the air was hot and the drinks were cool
there was no intention - there just was the night
we were so close, and there was no restraint
no reason to worry or for starting a row |
fairy
I saw you standing in the park by the creek
I watched you dancing in the flick'ring laser beams
I wanna be by your side girl
I saw you shopping in the bright city streets
I wanna be by your side girl |

keep rockin'
get up, folks, jump up and join the party
if you fear the future - here's the present
keep on rocking till the joint is shaking |
why don't you love me?
when I first saw you I fell in love -
but you don't love me!
booked a fitness course, got my body shaped -
but you don't love me! whatever I tried was in vain!
next I had my nose and nipples pierced
'cause you don't love me!
bought fancy shoes with platform soles
you still don't love me! whatever I tried's been in vain!
what else is there - that I could try
why don't you love me? |

on the road
I'm on the road
I'm leaving home,
I'm on the road |
need your love tonight
had a bad day at the office
rather be unemployed
Oh, I need your love tonight
things weren't better on my way home
it was one of these days
Oh, I need your love tonight Oh, I need your love tonight ... |

you can't see the light
somehow you've managed but you can't see the light - oh yeah
when you look at a girl but you can't see the light
it's 'bout time to start living
but you can't see the light |
on the move
seven months on the road
losing my sense for the daytime seven months on the move
left a woman behind
this kind of living's hard to take
seven months on the road |

anybody here?
is there anybody here who's had one of these days
let's forget for tonight
is there anybody here who's in deep waters,
let's forget for tonight
let's have some fun
is there anybody here who's feeling blue
let's forget for tonight
let's have some fun
c'mon and join the band |
don't talk about love
don't talk about love
each time you're here
don't talk about love
each time you're here
stop teasing me, Babe
don't talk about love
each time you're here |
